South Carolina forward Malik Cooke had 18 points to lead the Gamecocks past Alabama for their first SEC win. He added five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Cooke broke out of a slump that started when conference play began. He had not scored more than 11 points against conference opponents and had only made one of his his last three-pointers.
