New Mexico State forward Wendell McKines had 15 points and seven rebounds, but the Aggies could not stop Indiana on the defensive end. The Hoosiers made 59.3% of their shots and move on to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
McKines had a career year as a senior. After sitting out 2010-11 with a broken, foot, the 6-foot-6 power forward averaged 18.7 points and 10.7 rebounds. He scored in double digits in every game but one and will be missed in Las Cruces.
