Michigan State freshman Branden Dawson scored 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a 42-41 loss at Illinois. Seven of Dawson's rebounds came on the offensive glass and he was the only Spartan to score in double figures.
Dawson has now scored in double figures in three straight games after a six game span of not scoring in double figures. Behind Cody Zeller and Trey Burke, Dawson is probably the third best freshman in the conference.
