This was a big win for Providence as it was head coach Ed Cooley's return to Fairfield. The Friars big three of Council, Bryce Cotton, and Gerard Coleman accounted for 67 of the team's 80 points. Also of note, Boston College transfer Rakim Sanders scored 25 points and pulled down 9 rebounds for the Stags.
