Cal has granted guard D.J. Seeley a release from his scholarship to allow him to transfer to another school.
The 6-foot-4 sophomore was one of the top shooting guard prospects in the country two years ago. He was expected to play a huge role on the team next season with the departures of four senior starters. It is unknown why he decided to leave.
