Varez Ward scores season-high 24

Auburn guard Varez Ward scored a season-high 24 points in the loss to Mississippi State. For the second straight game, he went to the free throw line 12 times (and made nine).

The Texas transfer has taken on a larger scoring role in the past three games with 53 points. He is only hitting 34.4% of his shots this season, but has been forcing his way to the basket and has attempted 32 free throws in the scoring spree.
