Ole Miss guard Dundrecous Nelson was dismissed from the team after being arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Nelson was the tied for the team's scoring lead with 11.6 points.
The 5-foot-11 sophomore had played decreasing minutes over the last three games. His departure could open up more playing time for freshman Ladarius White and more shots for Jarvis Summers, who was already starting. Jelan Kendrick could also get a bigger role on the team.
