Illinois guard Joseph Bertrand scored a career-high 19 points in a hard-fought 78-74 loss to Missouri. Bertrand shot a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line and also grabbed five rebounds, three of which were on the offensive end.
Before this game, Bertrand had only scored a combined two points in the past six contests. The redshirt sophomore was a nice surprise and caused matchup problems for Missouri when he played the forward position. Don't expect another game like this from Bertrand anytime soon, but certainly keep an eye on his production.
