Illinois guard Brandon Paul scored 17 points, had five rebounds, and added five assists in a 48-43 win over St. Bonaventure. With Illinois trailing by five points late in the contest, Paul scored five points on one possession after back-to-back and one attempts.
Paul appears to be the Illini's lone playmaker and only one that attacked the hoop. Although he only shot 1-for-6 from deep, Paul got to the foul line 12 times and converted eight of those attempts. Expect good things from Paul once conference play commences.
