Michigan guard Zack Novak scored 12 points in a 70-58 loss to kick off the 13th annual Big Ten-ACC Challenge. Novak and freshman Trey Burke were the only two Wolverine players to score in double figures, with Burke adding 11. Novak was 5-for-8 from the field and added three rebounds in a losing effort.
Novak has been a steady force during his entire career in Ann Arbor, averaging 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds over four years. As a senior, Novak is a leader for his team and will need to contribute double figure scoring more often than not. What often gets overlooked is Novak's defensive capabilities, since he oftentimes guards bigger players.
