Tamir Jackson of Rice, who went off for 29 points against Southern University on Thursday, scored just one point in the Owls' win on Sunday over UM-ES. Jackson did, however, dish out six assists in 21 minutes of action.

It looks like Tamir is taking on a Kendall Marshall-like role this season and looking to score only when he needs to despite his obvious scoring ability. On Sunday, he clearly did not need to score as Rice won 81-49. Jackson's assist numbers should keep going up as the Owls face stiffer competition, since he is the primary ballhandler on a team with a dominant post player in Arsalan Kazemi.
