Louisville freshman guard Wayne Blackshear has a torn labrum that will require surgery. His recovery time is expected to be at least four months and he will miss the entire season.

Louisville has depth, but the loss of a potentially dynamic scorer like Blackshear still hurts. Guards Chris Smith and Kyle Kuric get a boost in value with the McDonald's All-American's injury.
