Cincinnati freshmen Shaquille Thomas has been been cleared by the NCAA to play this year.
Thomas averaged 19.6 points and 4.1 rebounds at NIA prep last season. The Bearcats return the nucleus of their NCAA Tournament team last year, but the 6-foot-7 Thomas is very athletic and should contribute immediately. He makes for a nice freshman sleeper candidate.
