Old Dominion senior Kent Bazemore broke a bone in his left foot during a summer league game in Norfolk. He is scheduled to have surgery on Wednesday August 3rd.  Initial speculation is that Bazemore, the 2010-2011 Colonial Athletic Association's Defensive Player of the Year and the Monarch's top returning scorer, could miss as much as 12 weeks while recovering from the injury.

Bazemore averaged 12.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and a CAA best 2.2 steals for the Monarchs last season and is a top candidate for the CAA's pre-season Player of the Year.  With organized practice scheduled to begin in about 11 weeks, ODU coach Blaine Taylor will not rush to put Bazemore back on the floor. The Monarchs may well be without their star for their early season games.
