Senior guard James Beatty scored a team-high 15 points and grabbed five rebounds in Rutgers' 65-63 loss to St. John's in the second round of the Big East Championship. Mike Coburn added 11 points and four assists and Gilvydas Biruta finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. Dane Miller scored just four points but also handed out five assists and grabbed six rebounds.
To say the least it was a tough ending to the the careers of the Rutgers seniors, but true to form this season they went down fighting. Despite a highly-touted recruiting class coming in look for Biruta, Miller and Mike Poole to have plenty of chances to shine next season.
