Iowa guard Cully Payne will miss up to eight weeks after undergoing surgery to correct a sports hernia.
Payne was out to a very slow start for the Hawkeyes. He was averaging 3.8 points and 3.4 assists, and making just 28.6% of his shots from the field. He'll likely be back some time in January. Meanwhile, Matt Gatens has returned and Bryce Cartwright should continue to get big minutes.
