St. Mary's forward Clint Steindl had 11 points, two rebounds and two steals in the opening round win over Richmond. He shot 3 for 5 from beyond the arc.
He hit all of his three-pointers in the second half. His last two bookended a 13-3 run with that put the game away for the Gaels. The 6-foot-7 sophomore from Austrailia came into the game only averaging seven points. If he can stay hot it will only help their chances of pulling an even bigger upset Saturday when they take on Villanova for the right to advance to the Sweet 16.
