Houston guard Kelvin Lewis scored 28 points, including six three-pointers, to help the Cougars win the Conference USA tournament championship over UTEP. Lewis added three rebounds and three assists.
Lewis fell one short of his season high. He has had a somewhat disappointing season. After averaging 18 points as a junior, his scoring average fell to 14.9 points. This championship will make up for the lack of production.
