Ohio guard Armon Bassett scored a career-high 38 points to help upset the top-seeded Kent State Golden Flashes. He made all 16 of his free throws.
Bassett added seven rebounds and five assists to his career game. His great game offset D.J. Cooper's (two points in 21 minutes) tough night in the background. Akron takes on Miami (OH) next and has become the favorite to win the MAC autobid.
