Northern Iowa guard Kwadzo Ahelegbe scored 24 points as the Panthers won the Missouri Valley championship over Wichita State. The junior guard was 12 of 14 from the line.

Ahelegbe had not scored 20 points since Dec. 8, so his offense was a surprise. What wasn't a surprise was the suffocating Panther defense. They allowed 132 points in three tournament games and will look to stifle whomever they play in the NCAA tournament.
