Rice freshman forward Arsalan Kazemi had 14 points and 14 rebounds as the Owls snapped their seven-game losing streak by beating East Carolina. It was his fifth double-double of the season.
After starting slowly and getting suspended for a game because of academics, Kazemi has been a solid source of points and rebounds. He is averaging 10.6 points and 8.7 rebounds and is converting 55.9% of his shots from the field.
