Appalachian State guard Donald Sims scored a career-high 44 points in a win over Davidson. The 6-foot-1 junior was perfect in 13 trips to the line and hit 13 of 19 shots, including five three-pointers.
Sims must have given Davidson coach Bob McKillop visions of what would have been had Stephen Curry stayed at Davidson. Sims is one of the best free throw shooters in the nation and has only missed three freebies this year (95.9%).
