Eastern Michigan forward Jay Higgins scored a career-high 25 points as the Eagles defeated Canisius. Higgins hit five three-pointers and added five rebounds.
Higgins, a junior college transfer, has hit at least two threes in each of his past six games. Prior to the game against the Golden Griffins, 12 of Higgins' last 15 field goals had been threes. He may offer a third scoring option for the Eagles after Carlos Medlock and Brandon Bowdry.
