Rice center Trey Stanton scored 23 points against Furman to set a new career high. He added nine rebounds, three assists, two steals, and hit his second three-pointer of the season.
The 6-foot-10 Owl scored in the twenties twice last year, but never eclipsed 21 points. In Rice's four previous games, Stanton had scored a combined 17 points and he was held scoreless in the team's previous game against Arizona.
