Durand Scott suspended indefinitely

March 09, 2012

Shortly before tipoff against Florida State, Miami announced that guard Durand Scott has been suspended indefinitely for allegedly receiving improper benefits.

Fantasy Impact:

CBS' Jeff Goldman reports this is a situation similar to that of teammate Reggie Johnson, whose eligibility was restored after missing just one game last month. Miami has already requested Scott's reinstatement, but it's a crushing blow to the 'Canes chances tonight against FSU, where a loss could very well bounce them from the NCAA Tournament. Rion Brown will start in Scott's absence, and if Malcolm Grant ever needed to catch fire, it's now.
